On 7th of December 2007, representatives from seven Hunter Valley sheds and Centacare (CatholicCare) gathered to lay the foundations for the first incorporated cluster group - The Hunter Valley Shed Cluster Group Inc (HVSCG). As a result, it was determined that the HVSCG should assist with the construction, equipping and operation of sheds within the diocese. It was envisaged that the cluster committee could adopt a holistic management responsibility as well as a decisive role to ensure continued credibility and viability for the Shed Cluster Group and its participants. The NSW Minister for the Aged the Hon. Kristina Keneally M.P officially launched the Hunter Valley Shed Cluster Group on 26 May 2008 at the Windale Shed.
